“How did the property tax increase and why it is better to pay on time”. Samvel Karakhanyan’s comment in Vedomosti newspaper
Tax service is expected to send out notices to the property tax, land and transport tax until the autumn, but residents of some regions, for example in capital, received them only in October.
Some people complained that they had not yet discovered a notice of payment in the mailbox. If this is the case, then most likely the notification of payment should be sought in a personal account on the tax service website.
People are not required to pay property taxes until they get tax notification. The tax service itself calculates the tax and sends notification of payment to citizens.
Tax payments for land and personal transport have practically not changed in this year. But the tax on housing and other structures has increased significantly, as the calculation formula has changed.
Citizens should pay taxes on time. The Tax code provides for sanctions for non-timely payment.
Some categories of citizens have special conditions for paying property taxes.
If pensioners have several entities, they should choose in advance one among them for which the tax will not be withheld and report this to the tax service.
From next year, getting benefits for pensioners will become a little easier. The new rules will come into force on January 1, 2018.
President of the Moscow Bar Association Barshchevsky and partners Samvel Karakhanyan tells: From January 1, 2018, a new rule is introduced: if there are no documents confirming the right to receive benefits, the tax authority must independently request documents from officials, for example, the Russian pension fund. The tax inspection cannot refuse to apply tax benefits if the citizen has not provided supporting documents.
