Members of the Moscow City Bar Association (MCBA) formed the law firm of Barshchevsky and Partners, the first private law firm in Russia, in 1990 as a professional partnership. The firm is pre-eminent among companies practising in the areas of financial and corporate law and litigation and offering legal support to businesses and individuals engaged in commercial activities. Founder of the Firm
Mikhail Barshchevsky: Doctor of Law; professor.
Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Science and the Russian Academy of Advocateship; professor at Moscow State Academy of Law.
Recipient of the "Honorable Advocate" award and the F. N. Plevako gold medal. Author of seven books and more than 100 articles regarding legal issues in both Russian and western periodicals.
Served as president of the firm for ten years. Appointed plenipotentiary representative of the Government in the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation (March 2001). Became plenipotentiary representative of the Government in the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court and Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation (July 2001).
